Receiver is based on the st40

There are many receivers "third-generation" need to jtag support .
The riff Box is one of the models within the competent and available to us in world and the Maghreb in particular.

i look to repairing STB forever 7820 pvr .receiver is based on the st40 sti7110 processor
s29gl256 nor flash spantion
and linux as software.
and he have a briked uboot.

when i conect the stb with riff jtag
and analyze jtag chain

Open serial port...OK
Connecting to the RIFF Box...OK
Firmware Version: 1.37, JTAG Manager Version: 1.55
Selected Custom Target: [ARM926EJ, 2.60V, TAP0]

Connecting to the target...OK
Set I/O Voltage reads as 3.30V, TCK Frequency is 3 MHz

Following devices are found on the JTAG chain:
  Device on TAP #0: ID = 0x2D43B041, IR Length = 0x05 bits
Total IR length: 0x0005 bits 

the riff jtag recognizes ID = 0x2D43B041
and it is the id sti7110 processor.

My question is : can i work with riff box on the original program of the device, as is the case with module ftdi ?

And Is it possible to be supportive of the new updates a processors st40 "st71xx" ?

it's possible to acces to the s29gl256 nor flash spantion and write the uboot , with riff as jtag at the moment?
