Also quote the SECURITY NUMBER. This is found on a label on the metal casing in the format TOA123 or TA123 or just A123 at the end of a barcode

If in doubt post ALL the letters+numbers on any labels or barcodes

Model PU-2294A
Serial No. CL0401Y0188963
VIN VF31AHDZE52525611

There's a couple of other numbers but it doesn't say what they are but I'll give you those as well:

286-8497-26
96 346 766 80

Hopefully this gets me a step closer to getting the radio working?

Your radio is made by CLARION and the only CLARION code that can be calculated (using a serial number ) anywhere on the Internet is if your radio also has a BARCODE SERIAL NUMBER beginning with C 7000000 + + + + on a separate label somewhere on the metal casing.
(Note ...not beginning with CL.)

If not then it will only be available from your Main Dealer or a Decoding Service or your local Car Radio / Audio Store who will connect a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM) inside your radio.

The Clarion PU-9971 uses a solder tag system for its code so can be decoded if the covers are removed from the radio .
