I have tried entering the code but it is not accepted. I think the unit has permanently locked itself due to the code being entered incorrectly over 20 times over its lifetime. Apparently I need to send it to Nissan to get it reset. Is it possible to reset it myself? If not, it'l have to go in the bin.

Try leaving it SWITCHED ON...UNDISTURBED for as long as possible to see if it automatically resets itself.

(Leave it overnight or longer connected to a spare battery on your garage workbench)
