VW Beta 5 code wanted please!

Hi all,
Would be ever so grateful if someone could give me a code for the radio in my car, just bought a VW Bora but somebody has changed the radio to a VW Beta 5 when it should be a gamma so the code written in the book doesn't work.

The radio serial is:
VWZ2Z2W1500292
Model: 1J0 035 152B

No Problem. I would like know a bit more about the technical background. Why are the codes for some radios of the same type available and others not?
And would it be possible to find out the code by reading the eeprom of the microcontroller?

The only V W codes available for free/cheap are the pre year 2000 GRUNDIG and PHILIPS radios as these can be looked up on databases that are available as software .
