can somebody explain this please !

i have a 4 disc cd changer , phillips
i posted on here asking for a code , and fair enough , was told its decode or dealer
i contacted the dealer , and got the pass card for the car , however , the code on the card was incorrect
so
i removed the unit from the glove box , got the gm number , asked nicely , at the dealers and they supplied my the 'correct' code !

however i ,ve tried to enter it twice , and it dont work !!!!!
unit is now in safe 5 !
and i,m at a loss as to what todo now
the partmans at the dealers , thinks that the unit could have been decoded , so even the supplied code wont work , ANY THOUGHTS , ON THIS ?

so what todo now , buy another unit ?
take to to and auto sounds place ,and get it flashed , is that the right term ?

any thoughts , advice

It looks like either

1...Dealer has given you the wrong code

2...Radio has been recoded to a different number.

Best solution is to take it into a Radio Decoding Service(such as your local Car Radio/Audio Store) and they will connect a laptop to read the working code inside the EEPROM memory chip
