I've had to replace the car battery and my local Ford where I bought the car don't have the code on their system!

Read the previous answer again.

You must have quoted the WRONG Serial Number.

The CORRECT Serial Number is found on a label on the radio casing so the radio will have to be removed from the dashboard.

(Sometimes pressing buttons 6 & 1 together or 6 & 2 will display this number)
