Thanks mate. The problem is the radio was initially in a mk2 clio and now putting into a mk1. I had it installed before but replaced it with an after market which was recently stollen which is why Im putting the stereo back in. The other problem is in the mk1 there is no display and theres no connection between the stalk and the stereo meaning the stalk doesn't work. So I have to enter the code manually on the front of the stereo technically blind. Any help would be much appreciated.

FOR NO STEERING CONTROL
press the first preset button for the 1st digit,
second button for the 2nd digit
third button for 3rd digit
forth button for 4th digit
then press and hold buttons 6 to store. for 10 seconds

so try button 1x2
button 2 x1
button 3 x8
button 4 x6
then hold button 6 for 10 seconds.

button 1 x 3
button 2 x 2
button 3 x 9
button 4 x 7
then hold button 6 to store code
